COBRA Premium Subsidy Extended, Immediate Compliance Required On December 19, 2009, President Obama signed legislation authorizing a six-month extension of the COBRA premium subsidy program that was part of the economic stimulus bill passed last February. These changes establish a new eligibility period, require new COBRA notices and modifications to existing notices and more. Most firms — and probably yours — are affected. Find out what you need to do immediately and what will be required of you in coming months by taking part in this important 90-minute interactive audio conference on January 29, 2010. If you employ more than 20 workers and you laid someone off starting September 1, 2008, the extension will impose new notification obligations. Even if you employ fewer than 20 workers and maintain group health plan coverage subject to continuation coverage rules, your compliance burdens have increased. Register online for $209 and open up your office, conference room or auditorium and share with an unlimited number of colleagues. CLM Credit: 1.5 hrs of credit in the area of Human Resources (HR) for CLM Recertification and for the additional hours of education required of Functional Specialists seeking to fulfill the CLM application.
